A ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION
With Mark Anthony Neal, Franklin Cason, Lois Deloatch and Joseph Winters
Join us for a roundtable discussion of Sinners (2025), Ryan Coogler's latest film. Duke professor Mark Anthony Neal will moderate this discussion with fellow professors Franklin Cason and Joseph Winters and noted jazz artist Lois Deloatch.
Free and open to the public. Light lunch served. Hosted by the Forum @ FHI, Left of Black, and the Activism, Music & Rosetta Records Bass Connections project.
A note about parking: We apologize that there is no free parking in the lots immediately surrounding Smith Warehouse. There is an ungated visitor parking lot at the Maxwell/Buchanan entrance across from Bay 1 South. The meter is in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The first 15 minutes are free. After 15 minutes, the rate is $2 per hour. The parking fee must be paid using the PayByPhone app or at PayByPhone.com from your mobile web browser.
There is free on-street parking on W. Pettigrew Street (the street in front of the Center for Documentary Studies), which is a short walk. At this time of year, it is usually not difficult to find a spot on that street.
For Duke staff who have an account with Duke Parking, it is also possible to purchase a one-day pass for the Smith Warehouse lots. A one-day pass is $10, and you must purchase it in advance (morning of is often possible, but it is also possible to purchase earlier), print it, and scan it under the red scanner light at any of the lot gates. You will also need to scan to exit the lot. We recommend this for people who can carpool and share the cost of the permit. The portal to purchase a day pass is here.
