Park & Walk

From the Sarah P. Duke Gardens

If you do not have a Duke University parking permit, the most reliable parking near the Forum for Scholars and Publics is in the Duke Gardens paid parking lots off Anderson Road. Old Chem is about a 10- to 15-minute walk through the Gardens. Follow signs for the Chapel, if you don't know your way. If you are familiar with the Gardens, the quickest path to our space is to enter the Gardens from the parking lot and stay straight until you reach the gazebo at the top of the terraced garden. Descend the terraced garden and go around the small fish/lilypad pond. Continue up the stone steps behind the pond until you reach the road (Flowers Drive). Cross the road and stay on the short asphalt path to the parking lot. Cross the parking lot and ascend the steps to the main campus. At the top of the steps, once you reach the quad, stay straight on the sidewalk until you see a sandwich board sign for Saladelia at the Perk on your left and the Forum sandwich board announcing our event on your right. Enter the Old Chem building at the sandwich board and go down the stairs. The Forum will be on your right on the ground floor.

Park & Walk

From the Bryan Center

The Bryan Center Parking Garage and the adjacent Bryan Center Visitor Lot offer paid parking on a first-come, first-serve basis but are often full by lunchtime. Old Chem is about a 10- to 15-minute walk from the Bryan Center parking lots. Once you park, follow the sidewalk to the Bryan Center, the low-lying building to the right of the Chapel. Continue straight on the sidewalk along the Bryan Center pedestrian plaza until you reach the main quad. Turn left on the sidewalk at the quad and continue straight towards Old Chem. You will cross Chapel Drive, pass the Perkins Library main entrance on your left, and arrive at a set of stairs to the upper quad. Old Chem will be immediately on your left, adjacent to the stairs. Look for the sandwich board sign for Saladelia at the Perk and the Forum sandwich board announcing our event. Both will be located near our side entrance under the portico, facing the Perk. Enter Old Chem under the portico and go down the stairs. The Forum will be on your right.
