Leonard Cassuto is Professor of English at Fordham University and author or editor of eight books on American Literature and culture. His most recent book, The Graduate School Mess: What Caused It and How We Can Fix It (Harvard University Press, 2015), was inspired by the monthly column, “The Graduate Advisor,” that he writes for The Chronicle of Higher Education. Cassuto, a national authority on doctoral education, has served as a consultant for the Mellon Foundation, the Modern Language Association, and for top-ranked Ph.D. programs across the country.
