Nurturing Imaginative Spaces

with Sarah Rose Nordgren of The School for Living Futures and Saskia Cornes and Maia Matheny of Duke Campus Farm

 

How do we educate for our climate future? What does embrace of the more-than-human require of us? Where do we find collaborators to undertake positive action to overcome climate grief?

Join us on Monday, November 6 at 6 pm at Smith Warehouse for a conversation about creating spaces for hope and purpose in the face of climate crisis. We'll meet Sarah Rose Nordgren, Founding Director of The School for Living Futures, and Saskia Cornes, Program Director of Duke Campus Farm, in a conversation moderated by Maia Matheny, Duke alum and Sloss Fellow with Duke Campus Farm.

In addition to these (partial) job titles, all three of our participants are also educators, creators, and community-builders. We look forward to discussing with them the challenges they've faced and the opportunities they create to bring a healthier, more whole world into being.

This is the first in a series featuring conversations with people who are bringing the ideas and values of the humanities into work beyond university borders.

Light dinner/snacks will be provided.
