Trevor R. Getz

Trevor R. Getz is a Professor of African and World History at San Francisco State University. His work focuses on social histories of nineteenth-century West Africa, history and comics, and history education. He is the author or co-author of eleven volumes, including Abina and the Important Men, which won the 2014 James Harvey Robinson Prize. He is the recipient of the 2020 Eugene Asher Distinguished Teaching Award, and currently serves as academic co-lead for the World History Project and the Big History Project.
