Sarah Rose Nordgren

Sarah Rose Nordgren is a poet, writer, teacher, and climate activist. She is the author of four books of poetry and prose, including Best Bones (University of Pittsburgh, 2014), winner of the Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize, Darwin’s Mother (University of Pittsburgh, 2017), and the hybrid-genre chapbook, The Creation Museum (Harbor Editions, 2022). Nordgren’s first book of nonfiction, Feathers: A Bird Hat Wearer’s Journal, is forthcoming in February 2024. It earned the Essay Press Book Prize, and was called “a one-of-a-kind book that raises great insights into flesh and forms of theory and poetry” by judge Ronaldo Wilson. Sarah Rose lives in Durham, North Carolina, where she teaches poetry, serves as Emerging Poet Feature editor for 32 Poems, and is the Founding Director of The School for Living Futures, an experimental, interdisciplinary organization dedicated to creating new knowledge and possibility for our climate-changed future.
