Alyssa Goldstein Sepinwall
Alyssa Goldstein Sepinwall (Ph.D. History, Stanford) is a Professor of History at California State University – San Marcos and past winner of the university’s Brakebill Distinguished Professor Award. She specializes in Haitian and French history; her recent research has focused on how history is depicted in film. Her scholarship includes an essay on Raoul Peck, the Haitian-born director of I Am Not Your Negro, as well as the forthcoming Slave Revolt on Screen: The Haitian Revolution in Film and Video Games. Her past writings include Haitian History: New Perspectives and The Abbé Grégoire and the French Revolution: The Making of Modern Universalism. She tweets @DrSepinwall.
