Redeployment
A Reading and Discussion With Phil Klay
In April 2014, Duke University’s Forum for Scholars and Publics, Intrepid Life Coffee and Spirits, and the Regulator Bookshop hosted a reading by Phil Klay, Iraq war veteran and author of the widely acclaimed story collection, Redeployment, at Intrepid Life Coffee and Spirits in downtown Durham. The reading was followed by a discussion with Klay, along with Intrepid owner and Iraq war veteran Matt Victoriano and Intrepid staff members and veterans Ryan Wetter and Logan Mehl-Laituri (Duke Divinity ’13). The discussion was moderated by D.G. Martin of UNC-TV’s “North Carolina Bookwatch” and veteran of the US Army’s Special Forces.
