Handerson Joseph

Handerson Joseph has a PhD in social anthropology from the Museu Nacional, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He is associate professor of the Department of Anthropology at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). He was the co-founder (2016) and coordinator (2019-2020) and is currently professor at the Graduate Program in Borders Studies (PPGEF) at Federal University of Amapá (UNIFAP). He is a research member of the CLACSO Working Group “Fronteras: movilidades, identidades y comercios” and of the Centre for Research on Anthropology and Citizenship (NACi/UFRGS). Joseph has carried out fieldwork research in Haiti, Brazil, French Guiana, Suriname, and the Mexican-US border. His publications are available at ufrgs.academia.edu/handersonjoseph.
