Charles E. “Charlie” Cobb

Charles E. “Charlie” Cobb, Jr. is a journalist, author, and veteran of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). Currently he is a senior analyst at allAfrica.com and author of the recent book, This Nonviolent Stuff’ll Get You Killed: How Guns Made the Civil Rights Movement Possible. Since 2014 Charlie has been a Visiting Activist Scholar at Duke, serving on the Editorial Board of the SNCC Digital Gateway Project and One Person, One Vote: The Legacy of SNCC and the Fight for Voting Rights.
