Arts & Context
A Conversation with Joshua Redman
Saxophonist Joshua Redman, composer, bandleader, and one of jazz’s leading lights for well over two decades, reflects on his career, creative process, and current project, Still Dreaming, which pays homage to the legacy of his father, the late Dewy Redman, and other alumni of Ornette Coleman’s trailblazing quartets of the 1960s. On the evening of Friday, February 14, Redman teams up with fellow torchbearers Ron Miles (cornet), Scott Colley (bass), and Dave King (drums) for a performance of Still Dreaming in Duke’s Baldwin Auditorium. Tickets and info available HERE.
Free and open to the public. Light lunch provided by Pie Pushers. Arts & Context is co-sponsored by the Forum for Scholars and Publics at Duke University, The Pinhook, and Pie Pushers.
