Author of The Half Has Never Been Told

Edward E. Baptist is Associate Professor of History at Cornell University and author of the books The Half Has Never Been Told: Slavery and the Making of American Capitalism and Creating an Old South: Middle Florida’s Plantation Frontier Before the Civil War. A native of Durham, North Carolina, he holds a BSFS from Georgetown University and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Pennsylvania.
